• Composed of an organic protein called fibroin. This protein is derived from the domestic species Bombyx mori (B mori) of the family Bombycidae. UNISILK silk, for braided material is impregnated with wax and is available Undyed (appears white in colour) and dyed in Black with Sulphur Black or Logwood Extract. UNISILK (Non-Capillary Braided Silk) is coated with Silicone – Nusil Med 2174 Silicone Elastomer. UNISILK V, Virgin Silk, is naturally coated with Natural Gum of the Silk Worm Bombyx Mori L. which holds the twisted filaments together.
